In Memory

Cheryl Handy (Pember)

Cheryl Handy (Pember)

Cheryl Anne Pember lost her fight with cancer at her home on August 14, 2010.

Cheryl was born on February 27, 1952 on the island of Guam to parents Norman and Jean Handy. She attended Villa Park High in Villa Park, California for two years and graduated from Mills High School in Millbrae, California. She retired, due to her illness, from California State Compensation Insurance Fund where she had worked for nearly 30 years.

She was a fun loving free spirit with more than enough joy in her heart for all that came into contact with her. She was always trying to make people around her laugh by making a goofy face, wearing a funny hat or a sarcastic remark. She loved spending time at Disneyland with her grandchildren and would go at least once a year. Because of her kind nature, she made many friends throughout her life.

As a single mother, she worked hard in life to provide for her three children, both financially and emotionally. Her children will forever be grateful for the sacrifices she made in life to provide them with a solid foundation to build a future upon. Her grandchildren will forever remember with great fondness the love and spunkiness that she showed them.
