My heart is broken. She has been my best friend since our first year at Mills. She has been my constant and supportive friend. she passed unexpectedly while shopping, and I know she didn't suffer, a small consolation.
she was a woman that volunteered for everything, she would help all, and her cookies were known throughout Orange County. I know her memories will be a blessing to all those that knew her aAnd loved her.

My condolences to Shannon's family.  Shannon was truly one of the kindest people to me when I started Mills knowing only a handful of other students in what was for me a very large and intimidating school environment.  A warm smile and kind words were always part of Shannon's contribution to any interaction we had and were part of the joy I experienced during my high school years.

So very sorry to hear this news.  Shannon and I were friends when we were about 3 years old, our parents were friends.  We moved to Mills Estates from San Bruno, and Shannon's family moved from Millbrae Meadows,  to the street below us, Lasuen,  when we were about 11.  Shannon's mother Marylin would pick us up from Spring Valley and see how many kids she could cram in her VW Bug.  Her father Bud would make skim boards for the kids in the neighborhood.  And, her brother Bobby was a buddy of my brother.  Shannon always had a great smile, and was so involved in school and activities, I always admired her.  I have an old photo of the two of us in a wading pool, probably in 1955, an old treasure.   Sad news, sympathy to her family and all who will miss her.
